LOCATION: Preferably New York, Los Angeles or Nashville

WORK DESCRIPTION

Firebird’s finance team is looking to fill a newly created position in a fast-paced, fast-growing environment. The position requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and talented individual who is ready to roll up her sleeves and throw herself into whatever task is at hand.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Direct report to Corporate Controller & VP Finance/Shared Services Controller
  • Proprietary full-cycle accounting processes: GL, AR, AP, account reconciliations
  • Own month-end closing: accruals, prepayments, expense reports, credit cards, payroll
  • Incorporation and accounting support for portfolio companies and subsidiaries.
  • Support the creation and distribution of regular reporting packages to stakeholders
  • Ensure complete and accurate synchronization of software plugins with GL (Concur, etc.)
  • Audit and analyze financial statements and reports of subsidiaries and parent company
  • Pursue compliance with all elements and deadlines related to taxes, locally and internationally.
  • Help develop the shared services department, financing various activities for the subsidiaries.
  • Develop regular, insightful and accurate management reports for internal and external use.

RATINGS

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience. Experience in new/young/growing companies +
  • Accounting degree. Advanced degree or CPA +
  • Cross-functional/operations-driven, with strong technical accounting skills
  • Experience in research, implementation and optimization of information systems. Major ERP +
  • Exceptional ability to work independently as well as manage both up and down.
  • Knowledge of the music/entertainment industry. Agreements, contracts, royalties +
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and reporting. Big data and analytics experience +
  • Not afraid to roll up her sleeves and get into the brush. Entrepreneurial spirit +
