Netflix movies: Revenge

Release Year: 2022

Directed by: Jennifer Kaytin Robinson

Cast: Camila Mendes, Maya Hawke, Austin Abrams, Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Alisha Boe, Ava Capri, Jonathan Daviss, Paris Berelc, Maia Reficco, Sophie Turner, Sarah Michelle Gellar

There really is no doubt that get revenge will go down as one of the best Netflix movies of 2022, if not the better. The dark teen comedy managed to strike an incredible balance between camp and nostalgia that doesn’t feel cheap or dated (the pitfalls many movies get caught up in). Instead, we’re left with what could become a modern teen classic with undeniable rewatch value.

Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke, two actresses who are not teenagers, play Drea and Eleanor, a pair of mismatched high school seniors and kindred spirits who find common ground to take revenge on their enemies. Drea and Eleanor team up to get revenge on each other, but that’s a lot easier said than done. And you’ll never see the big twist coming.

Although get revenge takes place in high school but none of the teens are played by real teens, it works and adds to the overall camp of the movie. Similarly, it’s just another nod to the many classic teen movies it references so well. Mendes and Hawke are the perfect duo, and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s surprise supporting role is the icing on the cake.

If you’ve been putting off watching get revenge, this is your cue to finally add him to your watch list. And if you’ve been waiting to see the movie again, don’t wait another second. get revenge is definitely a must-watch Netflix movie that will stand the test of time.
